Buena Park is a small residential nook - with its own identity and history - located within the larger neighborhood of Uptown. Leafy streets are lined with turn-of-the-century Georgian and Prairie School mansions and single-family homes on spacious lots. The neighborhood also is home to several large, vintage apartment buildings, high-rise condos, and townhomes.
Buena Park is located approximately 5 miles north of downtown Chicago. The official boundaries of Buena Park are Montrose Avenue to the north, Irving Park Road to the south, and east from Graceland Cemetery to Lake Michigan.
Buena Park is at the southernmost end of the Uptown community area of Chicago. Buena Park also borders on the Lakeview community area to the south and west.
Buena Park residents enjoy a waterfront golf course, public beach, off-leash dog park, protected boat harbor, amazing restaurants, happening bars and reputable theaters.
Most places are within walking distance or are just a short ride away. Main intersections like Sheridan and Irving Park Roads and Montrose Avenue and Marine Drive have multiple bus stops. The CTA Red Line train (the 'El') is also accessible from a stop on Sheridan Road.
