"The neighborhood takes its name from Humboldt Park, a 207 acre greenspace of walking and biking paths; sports, boating and skating facilities; and picnic spots. The Humboldt Park Boathouse and Pavilion, an architectural jewel, sits along the park's pleasant lagoon. Among the park's most recognizable features are an enchanting circular rose garden and intriguing sculptures that include the World's Fair bison that were originally cast in bronze for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Many of the neighborhood's boulevards showcase well-maintained greystones that date from this period, the late 1800s."

Located about 6 miles northwest of the Loop, Humboldt Park is bounded by Armitage Avenue to the north, Western Avenue to the east, Chicago Avenue to the south and Pulaski Road to the west. "For those who try to live a car-free life, Humboldt Park has you covered with a slew of CTA buses running right through your neighborhood.
While Humboldt Park has its fair share of public transit via CTA bus -- there isn't an El train stop nearby. However, if the El is necessary for your trip, almost all of the bus lines can take you right to a station. The best idea is to visit the CTA website (transitchicago.com) for more info and maps of the area.
For car owners Humboldt Park is easy, breezy and downright delightful. Permit parking is unheard of, parking is always available (with very few restrictions), and many homes in the area actually have garages. Gasp!"

"River North has completely transformed from this simple beginning. It is now a chic, cultural hub filled with art galleries, antique stores, boutiques and of course urban professionals. Boasting Chicago's highest concentration of restaurants, this small neighborhood has become a favorite destination for locals and tourists alike."
