Often referred to as "one of the North Shore's best kept secrets", the Village of Bannockburn is located 27 miles north of downtown Chicago.

The first settlers to the area arrived in 1835 from County Meath, Ireland. Later, an architect and builder from Scotland named William Aitken created a master plan covering 110 acres where he intended to build country estates for people who wanted a genteel style of living. Over the years more land was acquired and today the village encompasses 1,318 acres. Aitken's original intent - to create a residential community of homes on large tracts of land within a rural atmosphere comprising natural landscapes and open spaces - is preserved to this day.
Fort Sheridan was originally developed as a US Army installation on 640 acres of prime Lake Michigan property in the late 1890s. Today the Fort Sheridan buildings have been painstakingly and lovingly restored to their original historic beauty. On the inside, however, these elegant structures have been totally renovated to reflect the modern needs of a non-military residential community. The result is condos, town homes, single family residences and even brownstone-like living where 11-20 foot ceilings are the rule, and eight foot windows give full view to the restored beauty of the Fort. The unique building configurations allow for spacious grounds for play, exercise, or a stroll through the beautiful grounds. Each living space is totally unique unto itself.
Amidst these historical restorations, new residential construction has also been meticulously developed to provide new single family, condo and town homes in a compatible architectural style that allows for total community cohesion and beauty.
